Flashback from 2009.

I thought this would be an appropriate thing to re-post on Justin's birthday.  I was searching for pictures of their wedding, as they just had their 16th anniversary too, but I guess I don't have any of the pictures scanned in.  As I was searching, this blog post came up.

Thanks again, Justin, and Happy Birthday!

After

many years of a faulty doorknob on the side door, we got a new one today.  It finally happened for two reasons.  One reason is because a few days ago, as Gary was doing the usual jiggle of the doorknob to get it to open with the key, the key broke off inside of the key hole.  (Since then he's had a screw driver sitting outside to unlock the door.)  That was one motivating factor for finally getting a new door knob.

But the biggest factor was that Justin and Tiffany took it upon themselves to go out to Lowes and get new doorknobs. While at Lowes, Justin also bought a new spring for our downstairs toilet so the water won't run constantly. Then he actually came home and put the spring  in.

He and Gary put in the new side doorknob.
And when Gary and I got home from
a wedding reception tonight,
we found Justin had put in
the new front doorknob.

Ah, the joy of simple things.
I will so love not having to do
"a song and a dance,"
to get the door to open.
Instead of feeling that familiar annoyance,
it will be a pleasure to unlock the door.

I think we need to get Justin
down here more often.
Thank you.

As we sit

In the living room in Mom and Dad's old chairs, I'm thinking how much I love the arrangement on top of the piano.  The symbolism of the family tree; the family pictures; the hourglass measuring time; and the candles representing light; They all speak to me.  I feel blessed to be sitting here with Gary, my husband of almost 42 years,  as we read scriptures and try to "feast on the words."

Creative

Friends.  I never cease to be amazed at the cards and paper crafts my friend puts together.  Once a month she makes kits for our group and we just assemble them. These are what we did tonight.

Up at

U of U watching Timpview play in the finals of the  State basketball tournament.  It is right across the street from the LDS Institute building where a certain missionary spends a lot of time. I think we'll be taking a walk through on the way out.

A gorgeous

day.  We went to wash our cars and then went to Swig and got soda and a cookie.  We even sat outside on their swings, and it was beautiful.
