Richard's Burial

I'm far behind in posting this, but on April 6 we buried Richard's ashes.  Because he was cremated, the burial did not have to be immediate, so we waited until the headstone was completed.

It was a good day, befitting of Richard, where we shared memories, read one of his poems, and had a prayer of appreciation and a blessing of his burial spot.

I was so glad that Tom and Lynn were able to be there, and after the service we siblings and spouses went to lunch.  I truly feel so blessed by the love we share in our family, and I'm so grateful for Mom and Dad for creating a home where that was possible.

As we were leaving, we siblings had a brief moment of humor when we discussed if it would be appropriate to place a boiled raisin cupcake in his urn (they were his favorite).  Then reasonable minds prevailed, and we decided against it.
