July 27 - August 2 Retirement Roadtrip - MISSOURI

And then we rolled into Missouri!

It didn't take long for the fun to begin.  We visited Dan in his new office and went to a baseball game and watched Harrison play baseball.

The next day was Jackson's 20th birthday. (after being home for 2 days from his mission)

We always enjoy lots of outside time with pitching and hitting, fishing, playing with animals, and the birthday boy getting covered with silly string.

Worked out -- or at least one of us did with the help of his little brother.

 Harrison tried on his first football gear and Marshall had his turn, too.

Marshall and I started a Cardinal's puzzle, but after spending a little time on it he decided his back hurt and he needed a break.

Before we left, it was close to being done, though I didn't get a picture of it.

On Sunday at church, Jackson shared his floral ties with all the men.

It was wonderful to have all the Bishops together again.  It will only last for a couple of more weeks though, when Misty and Dan drive Jackson out to school.  

July 24-26 Retirement Road Trip - Hershey PA - Harrisburg PA - Indianapolis

After leaving NY we started making our way East and stopped at Hershey PA.  Of course we enjoyed the Hershey Factory and became chocolate palateers.

We then drove as far as Harrisburg PA.  We looked up what sites we could see there and found they have a civil war museum.   Harrisburg was a training camp for the Union forces, and the confederate army was ready to take go to battle there, but Lee called the calvary back to Gettysburg.   We learned what the term "Bite the Bullet" came from.  When there were not available supplies for anethesia, they would give the soldier a lead bullet to bite on to distract from the pain.  I can't even imagine. 

We drove on to Zaneville, which didn't have much, but did have a couple of cool buildings and a Y shaped bridge.

After spending the night there we headed further east and spent the night in Inianapolis, Indiana.  Of course there we went to the Indianapolis speedway and museum.
