Halloween Party since we've come.  She did it for a Young Women project where she hosted the Activity Day girls.  It was actually somewhat of a whole family affair.

must be a more efficient way . . .

But it would take me longer to learn it than it would to keep doing it my way.

Big Star Tutorial

For the ward Christmas party, I made these very easy stars.  I'm including a tutorial so I have them for future use.

Start with 7 paper bags

 

Glue and stack them together by making a hot glue line down the middle

 and across the bottom of the sack 

(see photo -- it is an upside down T)

Trace a point on the open end of the stack of bags 

Cut along the the lines (Use some strong scissors to go through all 7 sacks)


Fan the sacks out and put adhesive to connect the final ones.  They can easily be stored flat.

I sprayed these very lightly with gold paint.

  

This project was seriously

so easy. 

I saw it (where else?) on "Studio 5."

This apron made from a 99 cent vinyl shopping bag,

and took about 15 minutes to make.

It makes a fun little favor or gift.

For a few years now several of my friends and I have met once a month for a card making class.  Each of us make kits for 20 cards and then we go away with 4 different projects.  It is always so fun to visit, learn new things, and come away with some very cute cards or projects.  Here is what we did tonight.

 

I can hardly take the pictures

I'm laughing so hard.

and Natalie is literally rolling on the floor.

I don't know what I did wrong.
I think I must have put the back and the front
pieces together backwards or something like that.


Why, oh why?

This time I bought every size of every pattern
so I wouldn't be guessing on sizing.
(the patterns were on a great sell for 99 cents each)
And yet I'm still having issues.
Sometimes I really wonder about myself.

and are supposed to be yours.)

Down to the Wire . . .

That's what Gary was saying about the Jazz game tonight
in the last tense minutes (they did win).
That very phrase was also in my mind as
I looked at this unfinished rag quilt for Eliza's baptism.
It will definitely be down to the wire, but I think I'll make it.
