Crinkled Oranges

You might think

that all we've done is eat and party for the last month.  Well, that's pretty much true.
Gary and I need to go on a serious diet in August.  Tonight we had some of the Idiart cousins over.

Here are the pictures of our budding pyro-maniac and his grandpa as they were getting ready for the fireworks last night.

Here is a picture of our budding pyro-maniac and his cousins tonight burning an old Barbie

Yeah, scary.

Almost midnight . . .

and we finished our 24th of July fireworks about an hour ago.  This time Gary had Ashton and his friend as the pyro-technicians, which was pretty thrilling for Ash.  Tiffany has a cute picture of them setting up, but I don't think she would appreciate me waking her up to get it from her phone.  So tomorrow . . .

There is nothing

like being at a pioneer village on a hot day to appreciate living now and not then.   I always marvel that I am descended from such strong stock, because I'm not sure I would have what it takes to go through the physical hardships they did.

They've made the "This is the Place" or "Utah Heritage Park" into a very nice place.  You can ride a train around the different villages and they have little shops and crafts.   We had a fun few hours there with some of the Anderson cousins and then when to see Marci's house and have lunch.

We had to make

the annual trek to Brick Oven.  We had two little girls that were very hyper and climbing all over Gary.  They finally got what they wanted when the balloon lady came to our table.

It was nice to

come home from church to a wonderful cooked meal and beautifully set table.  Tiffany and kids went to their old ward that starts at 9 am, and ours starts at 1, so they prepared everything while we weren't there.   Eliza even made an amazing dessert with eclair crust, chocolate pudding with cream cheese, and whipped cream.

We are missing the

Bishop crew today.  They are camping somewhere in Colorado tonight.

Tonight I was snuggling Lucienne after her bath, and she said, "I want to walk in my towel."

She was reminding me of what Marshall would do.  He wanted me to snuggle him in his towel after every bath, and then we would play a little game where he would say "I want to walk in my towel."  Then I would pretend to cry and tell him I still wanted to snuggle him.  He would laugh and laugh and we would keep repeating it over and over again.

I'm glad we don't have to say goodbye to everyone at once.

August is going to be

really boring . . .

Yesterday the Idiart cousins joined us for lunch and bowling.  It was great to see the two different families enjoying each other.  Then we got our shaved ice and came home to have pizza for dinner.  Then we went to the dollar movie.  This morning Jackson took a tour of BYU with one of the Baseball coaches and Misty, Dan, and Gary.

They learned there is a whole world underneath the baseball stadium for the ball players.

We all went to another movie today (we were actually split up into 3 different movies), came home and celebrated Jackson's birthday early with a steak dinner.  Our event planner (Lucienne determined that we should all dance and then that we should line up and to the ring toss.  Now we are winding down and feeling badly that the Bishops will drive home tomorrow.

And here we are laughing at ourselves in pictures
from the photo shoot.
