One might think,

in looking at this picture,  that I have started baking in the family room.

I do have baking soda  sprinkled on the carpet, but this time it is there for a purpose.  

The family room has smelled like smoke for about a month or so.  I cleaned out the grate, but that didn't help, and in fact it made t worse.   Then last week, Trent figured out that the strongest smell was coming from the rug.  

In searching how to get the smoke smell out, several sites said to sprinkle baking soda on it and let it sit.  I've done that 3 times now, and it has helped somewhat. 

Next plan of action will be fabreeze.
