"Bloom

and Serve" where you are planted.    I've been thinking about that today in preparation for our Relief Society Activity tonight.

The focus was on service and things we could do in our community.  The overwhelming feeling I got from it was that we can do small and simple things that can collectively add up to make a difference.  People shared how they help in the library at a school, take meals to the homeless shelter, and make a family goal of doing service once a week for a "Summer of Service."   It doesn't take much, but it does take a conscious effort.

It got me thinking about the goal I made at the first of the year to write one note a week expressing appreciation, support, encouragement, or congratulation.   It is such a small thing, and it is something I can do.  Yet, I've slowly forgotten about it.  I want to renew that effort.

Here is a little self evaluation to consider when we are thinking of how we can make a difference and  "Bloom and Serve Where We are Planted."   In other words, serve at whatever stage we are at in our lives.

All good things

must come to an end . . .

But, we're very grateful for husbands, grandchildren, and extended families that made our fun retreat possible.

Here are a few of the projects they finished as we watched Downton and visited.  Natalie made some cute pillows for her couch.    We loved every minute of every day.

A very nice day

having all 3 girls at church with us.  We feel blessed.  Then we had dinner with the Anderson Family.  Unfortunately we were too busy talking and eating to take pictures of everyone.

There's just not

enough time in the day for what we want to do and all the restaurants we want to go to!

Pedicures, Provo Tabernacle/Temple Constructions, Sewing Projects

At the site of the old tabernacle which was destroyed in a fire.  Now it is being rebuilt into a temple.
It is a pretty amazing project with the shell of the building being held up with stilts.

A picture of what the finished product will look like.

 Projects!

The time is already

going way too fast. So many more projects to do (and start), so many more meals to eat (Misty fixed this delicious one for us tonight).  And 5 more episodes of Downton Abbey to watch.
